Create Listings from Excel

AuctionLinc lets you import your Listings from Excel spreadsheets. This is a great way to create listings if you are dealing with large number of items to be uploaded onto eBay. The import mechanism works along with Listing Template feature to reduce the amount of data that needs to be imported.

Here is how it works:-

The Import process takes the Listing spreadsheet as input. It will iterate through each row, fetch the Listing Template for that row and then create a Listing by bringing in data from the Template and then overlaying the data defined in each column in the spreadsheet

Here are the steps to do an import.

• Step 1: Download Sample Spreadsheet

  Download Excel Spreadsheet template that will you use to create your Listing data. Use the “Instructions” sheet in the Excel template to learn more about each column exposed in the Spreadsheet.

  To download, click on Action drop down in Listings -> Pending tab and click on “Create Listings from CSV” action.

  

  It will open an Import Dialog. In the Import Dialog, click on download Template link to download the sample Excel Spreadsheet.

  

• Step 2: Fill data in the spreadsheet and upload the spreadsheet.

  Erase sample data from the spreadsheet and provide your own data for each Listing to be imported.

  Use Instructions (highlighted in Red below) to know more about each column. Some of the columns are mandatory while others are optional.

  Save the Excel Spreadsheet on your local PC/ Mac.

• Step 3: Upload Spreadsheet

  Once the spreadsheet is ready, use the Import Dialog to upload your spreadsheet. Click on Choose File button to select the Excel Spreadsheet you saved above.

  

  Click on Import button to start the import process.

• Final Step: Verify your Imported Listings

  After successful import (if there are no errors), Listings will be created under Pending Listing status. You can then verify these listings and upload them just like any other Pending Listing.
