Listing Globals

How Listing Globals Work

AuctionLinc provides a way to store information about your business, sales terms and conditions, payment policies etc. These are called Listing Globals.

You can then refer to these saved Listing Globals in your Item Description. This saves your from having to repeatedly set up this information in all your Listing Descriptions when you create Listings.

All your listings that use HTML Templates will automatically embed Listing Globals (if defined) in your Item Description.

See below an illustration of how your Listing Globals map to your Item Descriptions. All AuctionLinc HTML Templates come with placeholders for Listing Globals. During the Listing Launch, Listing Globals will be picked up and embedded in the Item Description as shown below.

How to set up Listing Globals

Go to Home -> Listing Globals to set up your Listing Globals. You can put HTML in your Listing Globals. All Listing Globals use an HTML Editor to let you create HTML without having to write HTML syntax.

Tab through each of the Listing Globals tab to edit information for that tab. Click on “Update Listing Globals” button to save your changes.

How to embed Listing Globals in your Custom HTML Template

All AuctionLinc HTML Template layouts have Listing Global placeholders embedded inside them. When you create your own Custom HTML Template, you will need to embed placeholders for Listing Globals yourselves.

Listing Globals can be embedded inside the Custom HTML by using Placeholders drop down available in HTML Editor’s toolbar

Select “PAYMENT”, “SHIPPING” etc. placeholders in your custom HTML. These placeholders will then be replaced with actual mapped Listing Global at the time of Listing Launch. Listing preview also will do the replacement to show you your final Listing HTML will look like upon launch.
